About Me

Melissa is responsible for the development and implementation of annual public relations plans, oversees her team’s daily media outreach to regional and national publications and manages client relationships and communication. Melissa diligently ensures that all communication practices align with timely public relations strategy and each of her client’s goals. In addition to serving as the Account Director for Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites, Jackson County, NC., Historic Banning Mills, Holiday Inn Resort at Jekyll Island and The Partridge Inn, Melissa provides a variety of public relations services including media relations, writing, event planning and strategic development. Her outstanding media relations skills have resulted in publicity placements in both regional and national media outlets such as the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Jezebel, The Men’s Book, USA Today, Washington Post, Throwdown with Bobby Flay, CBS Early Show and The Wall Street Journal. Melissa has been a part of the Pineapple team for nine years and has experience with account management, crisis planning and social media. Melissa graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and Communications.

What is one thing you cannot travel without?

I cannot travel without a camera.

 What is your personal motto?

“In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take.”

What is your dream vacation destination?

The Serengeti! Going on a safari in Africa is at the top of my bucket list!

Would you rather go skydiving, climb a mountain or swim with sharks?

Swim with sharks, but preferably Whale Sharks since they don’t eat people. J
