SITUATION: With 45 miles of coastline, North Carolina’s Brunswick Islands is a prime coastal vacation destination featuring six barrier island towns and charming inland communities. The Brunswick Islands are well-known within North Carolina as a top beach getaway that welcomes back families year after year, but the destination wanted to spread the sunshine and draw the attention of beach-goers regionally and nationally.
SOLUTION: Pineapple Public Relations was thrilled to have the opportunity to dive in on this one and deliver a little piece of the beach to the media! To gain recognition on the coveted “Best Beaches” lists, we developed a media strategy focusing on the natural appeal of the destination and the bucket list-worthy attractions in the area, which we coined the “Beach Bucket List.” The centerpiece of the campaign was a “Beach Bucket” media mailer filled to the brim with all the “best of” things that make the Brunswick Islands so unique – beach experiences, outdoor adventures, birding, shelling, yummy beach eats and more. Our targeted mailing list included national writers, editors and bloggers who all received a beach bucket via the mail featuring our best of lists along with a custom beach towel, sun screen and shades. The results are so bright, you’re going to need shades!
